The Curzon Trail is a beautiful trek and the Kuari Pass (4,268m) provides for some of the finest views of  the Himalayas, in particular the Nanda Devi massif. It was the route into Joshimath, Badrinath and the Indo-Tibetan border region in the north before the road was constructed along the pilgrim's route. It was taken and described well by Tilman in the 1930s en route to his first ascent of Nanda Devi. The trek starts from Debal and upon crossing the Kuari Pass ends in Auli, India's principal ski resort, then descends down to Joshimath. Before returning back to Delhi, we'll visit the Badrinath Temple, which is one of the Char Dham Himalayan pilgrimage centers and along with Ramesvaram, Dwarka and Puri one of the four holiest places in India.
